Analysis of the tourist plant of the canton La Maná province of Cotopaxi-Ecuador

Abstract

The canton of La Maná, located in the province of Cotopaxi, presented great tourism potential due to its diversity of natural and cultural resources. However, to take full advantage of it, it was necessary to improve its infrastructure and tourist services. Through an exhaustive evaluation of accessibility, conservation of attractions, quality of accommodation, recreational activities and available services, it will be determined that, although some destinations will stand out for their adequate infrastructure and good conservation, others will present significant deficiencies, especially in roads and connectivity.  Areas of opportunity were identified in tourism management and the promotion of sustainable practices, key aspects to guarantee long-term tourism development. Furthermore, the need to improve strategic planning to optimize resources and promote responsible tourism is evident.  The improvements in road and transportation infrastructure, the diversification of the tourist offer with the aim of attracting different market segments, the training of personnel to offer a higher quality service and the strengthening of hygiene and safety policies. These actions would not only contribute to a positive and safe experience for tourists, but would also boost the economic and social development of the region.
