Importancia del test de sangre oculta en heces y su detección temprana en cribado de cáncer colorrectal

Las neoplasias son la principal causa de aumento de la tasa de mortalidad de la población en general. El cáncer colorrectal es una de las neoplasias más comunes que afecta tanto a hombres como mujeres en dependencia a distintos factores de riesgo; se deriva de un complejo mecanismo fisiopatológico, el cual desencadena una serie de cambios estructurales y de funcionamiento normal del organismo. Clínicamente, durante años, este cursa de manera asintomática al desarrollarse el adenoma; la aparición de los síntomas es relevante cuando se encuentra en un periodo avanzado de la enfermedad. Por su incidencia en la población, cumple con los requisitos necesarios de iniciar cribado para su detección precoz a través de los diferentes métodos invasivos y no invasivos. El presente trabajo de revisión bibliográfica tiene un diseño documental y bibliográfico con sustento en artículos científicos originales y experimentales con un enfoque en los distintos métodos de diagnóstico, evaluando la importancia del test de sangre oculta en heces y su detección temprana en cribado de cáncer colorrectal.
