Abstract

Clothing is a necessity of societies. They allow people to dress, to meet social norms, and protect them from weather conditions. However, it goes further, clothing allows the identity of the wearer to be projected. This is what fashion is oriented to, being the set of ornaments, garments and accessories that show the tastes, customs and uses of a society in each period. However, with the technological and industrial development achieved, as well as the unsustainability of the consumerist desire of the human being, the paths of fashion development have forced society to rethink its future from an ethical position. This is due to the high economic and ecological impact evidenced on the planet by the conglomerate of fashion industries in their desire to continuously satisfy society. The objective of the study is to analyze the role of education in the sustainability and sustainability of fashion. The design is non-experimental, the scope is descriptive, and the approach is quantitative. The data was obtained through the application of surveys to n=82 subjects to find out their perception of sustainable fashion and the role of education from their institutions to promote sustainable fashion. ethics, as well as sustainable and sustainable positions around fashion. The results indicate that very few people really know what sustainable fashion means and the aspects that it includes. However, after his explanation, a large number of respondents demonstrate their agreement with this movement, as well as the need that exists for educational institutions to promote the new generations in ethical behavior in relation to sustainable fashion. Finally, governments and social movements are called to promote more rational consumption habits, to protect our environment and give the new generations a healthy world in which they can live fully.
