Management of the blue obstetric key by the professionals who work in the type c health Center “Augusto Egas” Santo Domingo

Abstract

Maternal morbidity and mortality are a serious public health problem in Ecuador, which can be avoided with the correct implementation of the obstetric key protocols and the breast score. For this reason, this research was based on analyzing compliance in the management of the blue obstetric key by professionals who work in the Augusto Egas type C health center located in the Province of Santo Domingo. This study is quantitative, non-experimental and descriptive. A collection instrument with a 5-point Likert scale was applied, based on sociodemographic information and the activation of the blue obstetric key. It will be prolonged that the application of the blue obstetric key in the Augusto Egas Type C Health Center is fulfilled by 42.8%, and among the factors that affect these results it can be mentioned that the availability and supply of services such as laboratory and transportation is not permanent during 24 hours, in the night shifts these services are not provided; In addition, it is evident that not all health personnel are trained in the application of the Blue Key protocol, it can be stated that only 42.8% have received complete training. All of the health professionals who work in the Obstetric Emergency Unit of the Health Center have third-level studies and only 23.8 have fourth-level studies, 71.4% are female, their experience ranges from 6 to 10 years.
