Abstract

According to the literature, a baby is considered premature at birth if it is completed before 37 weeks of gestation. Its study is vital in societies because this is considered the main cause of death of newborns in their first four weeks of life. In order to maintain a high quality of life and a low mortality rate, various sectors such as health and the judiciary have worked together to guarantee conditions that make their development possible. The objective of the research is to carry out an analysis of the behavior in the births of premature babies in Ecuador, from a focus on the right to health and accessibility to free medicines. The methodology with which this work was carried out was documentary, based on the use of the analysis-synthesis method, for which its scope was exploratory. The search for articles was carried out in high-impact databases such as Scopus and WoS, carrying out a bibliometric analysis as the main practical contributions presented. With this, it is concluded that in the last decade in Ecuador the population culture has grown and a great boom has been reached in the knowledge of the subject in question. The laws have been strengthened in terms of accessibility to medicines and the right to health of children who are born prematurely, favoring the State the quality of life of newborns. In the same way, this work constitutes a valid reference in the future analysis of this topic in Ecuador.
