Abstract

This is the report of a clinical case of a 50-year-old male doctor-patient who was infected with COVID-19 at the beginning of the pandemic, as the first patient was reported in March 2020 in Ecuador. Two months after this, the patient was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a Second Level Hospital, where at that time the treatments were experimental and to date there is no established treatment. The objective of the research is to analyze the experience of the patient who presents prolonged symptoms currently known as COVID long or prolonged COVID, and in its beginnings it was established with the name "Post-COVID syndrome", where it only focused on the cardiopulmonary sequelae, but psychological sequelae such as brain fog, which affects memory, psychiatric, neurological, musculoskeletal, urogenital, and dermal, were never taken into account. This infection of viral etiology leaves partial or temporary consequences throughout the human body, for a period of time that is currently being investigated.
