Abstract

Renal disease is a serious and frequent complication in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially in those over 50 years of age. Risk factors play a crucial role in the development and progression of this condition, and their early identification is essential to improve prevention and management. Study design: The methodology implemented corresponds to a qualitative-semi-quantitative approach, and the type of study was a bibliographic review of documentary analytical research. Objective: To investigate the risk factors associated with renal disease in people over 50 years of age with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Search for information: Access was obtained through scientific search engines such as PubMed; Elsevier; Scielo, Google Scholar. Inclusion criteria: The researches taken into consideration for the study were from the year 2017 to 2023. Results: The relationship between type 2 diabetes mellitus and the development of chronic kidney disease was greater than 50% The Preventive methods used for kidney disease in people older than 50 years were as follows: Blood pressure and cholesterol control, essential medications. Early detection of CKD. Most of the factors are given by Diabetes, obesity, dyslipidemia, hyperuricemia and cardiovascular.
