Management Factors of the Organizational Security Climate on risks and accidents at work

Abstract

In the context of the oil and gas industry in Tabasco, Mexico, in relation to industrial safety, it is relevant and critical to determine the relationship between the Safety Climate Management Factors, the Commitment and the Non-Acceptance of Risks on worker safety incidents. This research is quantitative and observational, follows the deductive logic. It uses the survey as a data collection method and the Structural Equation Models (SEM) as a statistical method to test the hypotheses. The scope is explanatory, ex post facto and confirmatory. As a result, the shared perceptions of workers on the management of organizational security policies, procedures and practices do not directly affect the reduction of Security Incidents at work; they must be adopted and consistently developed by the workers and that is where the attitudes of the employees towards that regulation, the perception they have about the Safety Climate, the Commitment to Safety, the Non-Acceptance of Risks, individual differences, among others factors play a decisive role.
